Please cancel appointments 24 hours in advance. Always call immediately for emergencies. If possible, call before the situation becomes an emergency. When you have a daytime problem, please call as early as possible to enable us to schedule your visit promptly. If you need to speak to a nurse or doctor, be sure to leave a phone number and time you will be available. Except for emergencies, calls are usually returned between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you call at night or on the weekend and your call is not returned in 20 minutes, please call again.
In the event of power outages, we will be unable to answer calls. Accordingly, please visit your local hospital emergency room in the event of an emergency. Plan visits and prescription refills as doctor offices and pharmacies may not be available due to inclement weather.
Prescriptions are only authorized for those patients who have had an office visit within the previous 12 months. Refills of most routine medications can be authorized for 1 year following the date of your last office visit. When calling for prescription refills, always have the exact name of the medication, the dosage, pharmacy name, and telephone number. All prescriptions must be authorized by our allergy physicians. Prescription refills called in after office hours will only be authorized for a limited amount of medication since there is no chart to review. Try to call during office hours to avoid these limitations. Be aware that all prescriptions and refills are carefully documented in your medical record.
You will be advised of laboratory results by telephone. If you have not been called within 48 hours, please call follow up to see if your results are available. If you do not understand the results, ask the nurse if the doctor can return your call or schedule on appointment to explain the test results.
